Visa Requirements
The Consular Section of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Cyprus receives visa applications for consideration by prior appointment only.
1. Passport (and its copy) must be valid for not less than six months after visa's expiration date and has at least 2 blank pages.
Note: All applicants except for citizens of the Republic of Cyprus must submit their residence permits with a period of legal stay in the Republic of Cyprus exceeding 3 (three) months.

3. One recent passport size (35x45 mm) color photograph of the applicant with no headgear or sunglasses glued to the indicated space on the application form.
4. Invitation or other documents which can serve as a basis for issuing a visa to the Russian Federation:
a) For PRIVATE VISA - A letter of invitation issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. (For urgent trips for medical reasons - a certificate from a medical institution).
b) For BUSINESS/ HUMANITARIAN VISA - A letter of invitation issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
For EU citizens – a written invitation from a Russian host entity. The invitation must contain: name, date of birth, citizenship, passport number, time and purpose of the journey, number of entries; for the inviting organization – full name and address, signature and name of the official authorized to invite foreigners to Russia.
c) For WORK VISA - Original letter of invitation issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
d) For STUDY VISA - Original letter of invitation issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
e) For TOURIST VISA - A Confirmation of tourist acceptance stamped and signed by an authorized person.
f) For TRANSIT VISA - Photocopies of tickets to and from the Russian Federation and a valid visa (if required by that country) to the country (countries) of destination. Transit visa is not required for stays in the airport transit zone not exceeding 24 hours.
5. Medical insurance (For the EU citizens on the basis of reciprocity it must be at least 30 000 euro in coverage valid in the Russian Federation for the whole period of the expected stay).
Please note that it is not recommended to buy air tickets to Russia prior application for visa.
NOTICE: Visa applications take from 3 to 20 days depending on type of visa. The processing time may be extended with a relevant notification to the applicant.
