E-Visa to Russia

Starting from August 1, 2023, the system for processing electronic visas to the Russian Federation will be launched.

Currently, this visa is available to citizens of 52 countries, including Cyprus. In the near future, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar will also be added to the list, which was approved by the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated October 6, 2020.

The e-visa is issued based on the application of a foreign citizen, filled out electronically on the specialized website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia at the following address: https://electronic-visa.kdmid.ru or through the mobile application provided for download on the mentioned website.

The application for e-visa must be submitted no later than 4 calendar days before the intended date of entry into the Russian Federation. The application must be accompanied by a digital photograph of the applicant's face and a scanned copy of the page with the data of the machine-readable foreign passport. No other documents are required to obtain such type of visa.

The validity period of the e-visa is 60 days from the date of issuance, with the permitted duration of stay in the Russian Federation not exceeding 16 days from the date of entry into the territory of the Russian Federation.

The e-visa allows a single entry into the Russian Federation and stay in the country for guest or business visits, tourism, as well as for participation in scientific, cultural, socio-political, economic, and sports events, and for conducting relevant relations and contacts.

According to the current Russian legislation, this visa is issued at a fee.

Transport companies can check the validity of a foreign citizen's e-visa on the special automated website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. Information on the procedure for verification is available in both Russian and English.
